Abhidhammapiṭaka · Paṭṭhāna (3) · Vol. 42 · Section 572

[572] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is both a tie (gantha) and associated with ties (gantha-sampayutta) is a condition, by object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is both a tie and associated with ties: Having made ties their object, ties arise. The root should be stated. Having made ties their object, aggregates (khandhā) that are associated with ties but are not ties arise. The root should be stated. Having made ties their object, ties and aggregates associated with ties arise. A phenomenon that is associated with ties but is not a tie is a condition, by object condition, for a phenomenon that is associated with ties but is not a tie: Having made aggregates that are associated with ties but are not ties their object, aggregates that are associated with ties but are not ties arise. The root should be stated. Having made aggregates that are associated with ties but are not ties their object, ties arise. The root should be stated. Having made aggregates that are associated with ties but are not ties their object, ties and aggregates associated with ties arise. In this way the other three questions should also be stated. In predominance (adhipati), in proximity (anantara), and in decisive support (upanissaya) as well, [the questions] are just similar to [those under] the object condition. There is no analysis (vibhaṅga).
