[578] Dependent on a hindrance phenomenon (nīvaraṇa dhamma), a hindrance phenomenon arises, not by root condition (na-hetupaccayā): dependent on the hindrance of doubt (vicikicchā-nīvaraṇa), the hindrance of ignorance (avijjā-nīvaraṇa) arises; dependent on the hindrance of restlessness (uddhacca-nīvaraṇa), the hindrance of ignorance arises.
Dependent on a non-hindrance phenomenon (no-nīvaraṇa dhamma), a non-hindrance phenomenon arises, not by root condition: dependent on one rootless (ahetuka) non-hindrance aggregate (khandha), three aggregates and mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) arise; dependent on two aggregates …; rootless rebirth-linking (ahetuka-paṭisandhi), up to the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā).
