[650] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is both a hindrance (nīvaraṇa) and associated with hindrances is a condition, by root condition (hetu-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is both a hindrance and associated with hindrances:
Roots (hetū) that are both hindrances and associated with hindrances are a condition, by root condition, for the associated hindrances.
A phenomenon that is both a hindrance and associated with hindrances is a condition, by root condition, for a phenomenon that is associated with hindrances but is not a hindrance:
Roots that are both hindrances and associated with hindrances are a condition, by root condition, for the aggregates (khandhā) associated with hindrances.
A phenomenon that is both a hindrance and associated with hindrances is a condition, by root condition, for a phenomenon that is both a hindrance and associated with hindrances and for a phenomenon that is associated with hindrances but is not a hindrance:
Roots that are both hindrances and associated with hindrances are a condition, by root condition, for the associated aggregates and for the hindrances.
