[242] A phenomenon (dhamma) conjoined with and originated by mind (cittasaṃsaṭṭhasamuṭṭhāna) is a condition, by predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya), for a phenomenon conjoined with and originated by mind: object-predominance (ārammaṇādhipati) and conascence-predominance (sahajātādhipati) — three [questions]. Both predominances should be elaborated.
A phenomenon that is not conjoined with and originated by mind (no-cittasaṃsaṭṭhasamuṭṭhāna) is a condition, by predominance condition, for a phenomenon that is not conjoined with and originated by mind: object-predominance and conascence-predominance — three [questions]. Both predominances should be elaborated.
A phenomenon conjoined with and originated by mind and a phenomenon that is not conjoined with and originated by mind are a condition, by predominance condition, for a phenomenon conjoined with and originated by mind: object-predominance. Only one predominance should be elaborated. All nine questions should be elaborated in the same way as the dyad of phenomena arisen together with mind (cittasahabhu-duka); there is no difference.
