[323] A derived phenomenon (upādā dhamma) is a condition for a not-derived phenomenon (no-upādā dhamma) by predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya): Object-predominance (ārammaṇādhipati): having given weight to the eye … the body, forms, tastes … the base (vatthu), one relishes it and delights in it; having given weight to that, lust (rāga) arises, view (diṭṭhi) arises.
A not-derived phenomenon is a condition for a not-derived phenomenon by predominance condition: object-predominance, conascence-predominance (sahajātādhipati).
Object-predominance: a gift (dāna) … virtue (sīla) … having performed the uposatha observance (uposatha-kamma), having given weight to it, one reviews it, relishes it and delights in it; having given weight to that, lust arises, view arises. What was well practiced in the past … having emerged from jhāna, the jhāna … Noble ones (ariyā), having emerged from the path (magga), having given weight to the path … fruition (phala) … Nibbāna … Nibbāna is a condition for change-of-lineage (gotrabhū), for purification (vodāna), for the path, and for fruition by predominance condition. Tangibles (phoṭṭhabba) … having given weight to the not-derived aggregates (khandha), one relishes them and delights in them; having given weight to that, lust arises, view arises.
Conascence-predominance: the not-derived predominance is a condition for the associated aggregates and for not-derived mind-originated forms (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) by predominance condition.
