[372] A clung-to phenomenon (upādinna dhamma) is a condition for a not-clung-to phenomenon (anupādinna dhamma) by predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya): object-predominance (ārammaṇādhipati): having given weight to the eye … the body, to clung-to forms (rūpa), odours, tastes, tangibles, to the base (vatthu) … to not-clung-to aggregates (khandhā), one relishes and delights in them; having given weight to that, lust (rāga) arises, wrong view (diṭṭhi) arises. A not-clung-to phenomenon is a condition for a not-clung-to phenomenon by predominance condition: object-predominance, conascence-predominance (sahajātādhipati). Object-predominance: a gift (dāna) … virtue (sīla) … having performed the uposatha observance (uposathakamma), having given weight to it, one reviews it, relishes it, delights in it; having given weight to that, lust … wrong view … formerly … from jhāna … The noble ones, having emerged from the path (magga), having given weight to the path, review it; the fruition (phala) … Nibbāna … Nibbāna is a condition for change-of-lineage (gotrabhū), for cleansing (vodāna), for the path, for fruition, by predominance condition. Having given weight to not-clung-to forms … sounds … tangibles … to not-clung-to aggregates, lust arises, wrong view arises. Conascence-predominance: a not-clung-to predominant (adhipati) is a condition for the associated (sampayuttaka) aggregates and for the mind-originated forms (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) by predominance condition.
