[481] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is a defilement (kilesa), a phenomenon that is a defilement arises by not-root condition (na-hetu-paccaya): dependent on doubt (vicikicchā), delusion (moha) arises; dependent on restlessness (uddhacca), delusion arises.
Dependent on a phenomenon that is not a defilement, a phenomenon that is not a defilement arises by not-root condition: dependent on one rootless (ahetuka) aggregate (khandha) that is not a defilement, three aggregates and mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) arise; dependent on two aggregates … rootless rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), up to the non-percipient beings (asaññasattā).
