Kilessaṅkilesikaduka

[542] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is both a defilement (kilesa) and subject to defilement (saṅkilesika) is a condition, by root condition (hetu-paccaya), for a phenomenon that is both a defilement and subject to defilement: That is, roots (hetū) that are both defilements and subject to defilement are a condition, by root condition, for the associated (sampayuttaka) defilements. Thus there are four [cases], similar to the defilement dyad (kilesa-duka).
