[112] Bhikkhus, the Saṅgha, if it wishes, may carry out an act of banishment (pabbājanīyakamma) against three kinds of bhikkhus: one is a maker of strife, a maker of quarrels, a maker of disputes, a maker of contention, a maker of legal issues (adhikaraṇa) in the Saṅgha; one is foolish, incompetent, full of offenses (āpatti), and lacking in boundaries; one dwells in association with householders, in unbecoming associations with householders. Bhikkhus, the Saṅgha, if it wishes, may carry out an act of banishment against these three kinds of bhikkhus.
