[472] Bhikkhus, here a bhikkhu, while undergoing probation (parivāsa), disrobes. Bhikkhus, for one who has disrobed, the probation does not take effect. If he receives the higher ordination (upasampadā) again, that very same former grant of probation stands for him. The probation that was given is well given; that which has been observed is well observed; the remainder should be observed.
