[538] Bhikkhus, here again, a bhikkhu, while undergoing probation (parivāsa), commits several offences (āpatti) entailing a formal meeting of the Saṅgha (saṅghādisesa) in the interim. Some offences he knows; some offences he does not know. Those offences that he knows, he conceals; those offences that he does not know, he does not conceal. Having disrobed, he is ordained again; those offences which formerly, knowing them, he concealed, those offences he afterwards, knowing them, does not conceal; those offences which formerly, not knowing them, he did not conceal, those offences he afterwards, knowing them, conceals. That bhikkhu should be sent back to the beginning (mūlāya paṭikassanā), and he should be given consolidated probation (samodhānaparivāsa) in conjunction with the former offence, for his offences according as they were concealed.
