[82] Therein, bhikkhus, as for those ascetics and brahmins who are theorists about the past (pubbantakappikā), who hold views about the past, and who, with reference to the past, assert various propositions of conviction (adhimuttipadāni) on eighteen grounds — that they should experience that apart from contact (phassa): such a thing is impossible.
