[818] Setting at Sāvatthī. "Bhikkhus, dwell with your minds well established in the four establishments of mindfulness (satipaṭṭhāna); do not let the deathless (amata) be lost to you. In which four? Here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu dwells contemplating the body in the body, ardent (ātāpī), clearly comprehending, mindful, having removed covetousness and grief regarding the world. In feelings (vedanā) … in the mind (citta) … he dwells contemplating dhammas in dhammas, ardent, clearly comprehending, mindful, having removed covetousness and grief regarding the world. Bhikkhus, dwell with your minds well established in these four establishments of mindfulness; do not let the deathless be lost to you."
