[183] Which phenomena (dhammā) are wholesome? On the occasion when one develops the path for rebirth in the form sphere (rūpūpapatti)—not percipient of form internally, one sees forms externally, measureless, and, having mastered them, [one is aware:] 'I know, I see'—and, quite secluded from sensual pleasures … one enters and dwells in the first jhāna: on that occasion there is contact (phassa) … there is non-distraction (avikkhepa) … These phenomena are wholesome.
