[118] P. Is it not to be said: "The person (puggala) is apprehended (upalabbhati) in a real and ultimate sense (sacchikaṭṭha-paramaṭṭha)"?
S. Yes.
P. Is it not so that the one who hears … the one who smells … the one who tastes … the one who touches … the one who cognizes (vijānāti) — he cognizes; what he cognizes — that he cognizes; that whereby he cognizes — thereby he cognizes?
S. Yes.
P. If the one who cognizes — he cognizes; what he cognizes — that he cognizes; that whereby he cognizes — thereby he cognizes, then indeed, good sir, it should be said: "The person is apprehended in a real and ultimate sense."
