[120] Sakavādin: Is the person (puggala) apprehended in the sense of a real and ultimate fact (sacchikaṭṭha-paramaṭṭha)?
Paravādin: Yes (āmantā).
Sakavādin: Is it not so that he who does not hear … he who does not smell … he who does not taste … he who does not touch … he who does not cognize, that which he does not cognize, that by which he does not cognize — he does not cognize, does not cognize that, does not cognize by that?
Paravādin: Yes.
Sakavādin: If, indeed, he who does not cognize, that which he does not cognize, that by which he does not cognize — he does not cognize, does not cognize that, does not cognize by that — then truly, good sir, it should not be said: "The person is apprehended in the sense of a real and ultimate fact."
