[1089] One for whom the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) arises — will the mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) arise for him?
Yes.
Or rather, one for whom the mental formation will arise — does the bodily formation arise for him?
For all [beings] at the moment of the dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind (citta), [and] at the moment of the arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of mind without in-and-out breathing (assāsapassāsā), for those who have attained cessation (nirodhasamāpannā), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā): for them the mental formation will arise, but the bodily formation does not arise for them. At the moment of the arising of in-and-out breathing, for them the mental formation will arise, and the bodily formation also arises.
