[1117] For whomever the bodily formation (kāya-saṅkhāra) ceases, does the mental formation (citta-saṅkhāra) cease for that one? Yes. Or rather, for whomever the mental formation ceases, does the bodily formation cease for that one? At the moment of dissolution (bhaṅga-khaṇa) of a mind (citta) without in-breaths and out-breaths, the mental formation of those [beings] ceases, but the bodily formation of those [beings] does not cease. At the moment of dissolution of the in-breaths and out-breaths, both the mental formation of those [beings] ceases and the bodily formation ceases.
