[1142] For whomever the bodily formation (kāyasaṅkhāra) ceases, has the mental formation (cittasaṅkhāra) ceased for that one?
Yes.
Or, for whomever the mental formation has ceased, does the bodily formation cease for that one?
For all [beings] at the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of mind (citta), [and] at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind apart from the in-and-out breaths (assāsapassāsā), for those attained to cessation (nirodhasamāpannā), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā): their mental formation has ceased, but their bodily formation does not cease. At the moment of dissolution of the in-and-out breaths: their mental formation has ceased, and their bodily formation ceases.
