Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 1321

[1321] One who is without the latent tendency of sensual lust (kāmarāgānusaya) — is he without the latent tendency of repulsion (paṭighānusaya)? Yes. Or rather, one who is without the latent tendency of repulsion — is he without the latent tendency of sensual lust? Yes. One who is without the latent tendency of sensual lust — is he without the latent tendency of conceit (mānānusaya)? The Non-Returner (anāgāmī) is without the latent tendency of sensual lust, but he is not¹ without the latent tendency of conceit; the Arahant is both without the latent tendency of sensual lust and without the latent tendency of conceit. Or rather, one who is without the latent tendency of conceit — is he without the latent tendency of sensual lust? Yes. One who is without the latent tendency of sensual lust — is he without the latent tendency of views (diṭṭhānusaya) … the latent tendency of doubt (vicikicchānusaya)? Yes. Or rather, one who is without the latent tendency of doubt — is he without the latent tendency of sensual lust? Two persons are without the latent tendency of doubt, but they are not without the latent tendency of sensual lust; two persons are both without the latent tendency of doubt and without the latent tendency of sensual lust. One who is without the latent tendency of sensual lust — is he without the latent tendency of lust for existence (bhavarāgānusaya) … the latent tendency of ignorance (avijjānusaya)? The Non-Returner is without the latent tendency of sensual lust, but he is not without the latent tendency of ignorance; the Arahant is both without the latent tendency of sensual lust and without the latent tendency of ignorance. Or rather, one who is without the latent tendency of ignorance — is he without the latent tendency of sensual lust? Yes. ¹ [Editorial footnote in the Siam Raṭṭha Pali:] The reading should be "no ca so." The person-and-plane section (puggalokāsavāra), which will be stated further on, is the illustration here; for there it is said "no ca so tato" and so forth. With "no ca te" the same method applies here as well.
