[1398] From where one does not abandon the latent tendency of sensual lust (kāmarāgānusaya), does one not abandon the latent tendency of repulsion (paṭighānusaya) from there?
In painful feeling (dukkhā vedanā) one does not abandon the latent tendency of sensual lust from there, but it is not the case that one does not abandon the latent tendency of repulsion from there. In the form element (rūpadhātu), in the formless element (arūpadhātu), and in what is not included (apariyāpanna), one neither abandons the latent tendency of sensual lust from there nor abandons the latent tendency of repulsion from there.
Or else, from where one does not abandon the latent tendency of repulsion, does one not abandon the latent tendency of sensual lust from there?
In the two feelings in the sensual element (kāmadhātu) one does not abandon the latent tendency of repulsion from there, but it is not the case that one does not abandon the latent tendency of sensual lust from there. In the form element, in the formless element, and in what is not included, one neither abandons the latent tendency of repulsion from there nor abandons the latent tendency of sensual lust from there.
From where one does not abandon the latent tendency of sensual lust, does one not abandon the latent tendency of conceit (mānānusaya) from there?
In the form element and in the formless element one does not abandon the latent tendency of sensual lust from there, but it is not the case that one does not abandon the latent tendency of conceit from there.
