Uppādavāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 437

[437] For whomever, wherever, the nose sense-base (ghānāyatana) does not arise, has the form sense-base (rūpāyatana) never arisen for that one there? For those passing away from the sense sphere (kāmāvacara), for noseless beings (aghānaka) being reborn into the sense sphere, and for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara): for them there the nose sense-base does not arise, but it is not the case that the form sense-base has never arisen for them there. For beings of the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa) and for formless beings (arūpa): for them there the nose sense-base does not arise and the form sense-base has never arisen. Or, for whomever, wherever, the form sense-base has never arisen, does the nose sense-base not arise for that one there? Yes.
