[439] For whomever, wherever, the nose base (ghānāyatana) does not arise — has the phenomena base (dhammāyatana) never arisen for that one there?
For all those who are passing away, and for those without nose who are being reborn — for them there the nose base does not arise; but it is not the case that the phenomena base has never arisen for them there. For those of the Pure Abodes (Suddhāvāsa) — for them there the nose base does not arise, and the phenomena base has never arisen.
Or rather, for whomever, wherever, the phenomena base has never arisen — does the nose base not arise for that one there?
