Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 521

[521] "For whom the eye base (cakkhāyatana) ceases, does the ear base (sotāyatana) cease for him?" For those possessing the eye, without the ear, who are passing away, their eye base ceases, but their ear base does not cease. For those possessing the eye, possessing the ear, who are passing away, their eye base ceases and their ear base ceases. "Or, for whom the ear base ceases, does the eye base cease for him?" For those possessing the ear, without the eye, who are passing away, their ear base ceases, but their eye base does not cease. For those possessing the ear, possessing the eye, who are passing away, their ear base ceases and their eye base ceases.
