[541] For whomever the nose base (ghānāyatana) does not cease, does the phenomena base (dhammāyatana) of that one not cease?
For those without nose who are passing away, their nose base does not cease, but it is not the case that their phenomena base does not cease. For all who are being reborn, their nose base does not cease and their phenomena base does not cease.
Or rather, for whomever the phenomena base does not cease, does the nose base of that one not cease?
