Uppādanirodhavāra

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Yamaka (1) · Vol. 38 · Section 698

[698] For whomever the nose base (ghānāyatana) does not arise, does the form base (rūpāyatana) not cease for that one? For those with form who are passing away, the nose base does not arise, but it is not the case that the form base does not cease for them. For those without nose who are being reborn and for those without form who are passing away, the nose base does not arise for them, and the form base does not cease. Or rather, for whomever the form base does not cease, does the nose base not arise for that one? For those with nose who are being reborn, the form base does not cease, but it is not the case that the nose base does not arise for them. For those without form who are passing away and for those without nose who are being reborn, the form base does not cease for them, and the nose base does not arise.
