[663] For whomever, wherever, the eye base (cakkhāyatana) has ceased, will the nose base (ghānāyatana) cease for that one there?
For those attaining final Nibbāna in the sense sphere (kāmāvacara) and for beings of the form sphere (rūpāvacara), the eye base has ceased for them there, but the nose base will not cease for them there. For the other sense-sphere beings, both the eye base has ceased for them there and the nose base will cease.
Or, for whomever, wherever, the nose base will cease, has the eye base ceased for that one there?
