[350] For whomever wholesome (kusala) phenomena (dhammā) arise, will unwholesome (akusala) phenomena cease for that one?
At the moment of arising (uppādakkhaṇa) of the highest path (aggamagga), and at the moment of arising of that mind (citta) immediately after which they will obtain the highest path, wholesome phenomena arise for them, but unwholesome phenomena will not cease for them. For the others, at the moment of arising of wholesome [states], both wholesome phenomena arise for them and unwholesome phenomena will cease.
Or rather, for whomever unwholesome phenomena will cease, do wholesome phenomena arise for that one?
For all [beings] at the moment of dissolution (bhaṅgakkhaṇa) of mind, at the moment of arising of a mind dissociated from the wholesome, for those who have attained cessation (nirodhasamāpannā), and for non-percipient beings (asaññasattā), unwholesome phenomena will cease for them, but wholesome phenomena do not arise for them. At the moment of arising of wholesome [states], both unwholesome phenomena will cease for them and wholesome phenomena arise.
