Abhidhammapiṭaka · Paṭṭhāna (2) · Vol. 41 · Section 11

[11] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) with thought and examination (savitakka-savicāra) and a phenomenon without thought and without examination (avitakka-avicāra), there arise phenomena with thought and examination, phenomena without thought, with examination only (avitakka-vicāramatta), and phenomena without thought and without examination, by root condition (hetu-paccaya). At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), dependent on one aggregate with thought and examination and the base (vatthu), three aggregates and thought (vitakka) arise; dependent on two aggregates and the base, two aggregates and thought arise; dependent on the aggregates with thought and examination and the primary elements (mahābhūta), kamma-born materiality (kaṭattārūpa) arises.
