[12] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) that is without thought but with examination only (avitakka-vicāramatta) and on a phenomenon that is without thought and without examination (avitakka-avicāra), a phenomenon that is with thought and with examination (savitakka-savicāra) arises by root condition (hetu-paccaya): at the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhikkhaṇa), dependent on thought (vitakka) and the base (vatthu), aggregates (khandhā) that are with thought and with examination arise. Dependent on a phenomenon that is without thought but with examination only and on a phenomenon that is without thought and without examination, a phenomenon that is without thought but with examination only arises by root condition: dependent on one aggregate that is without thought but with examination only and on examination (vicāra), three aggregates arise; dependent on two aggregates and on examination, two aggregates arise. At the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on one aggregate that is without thought but with examination only and on examination, three aggregates arise; dependent on two aggregates and on examination, two aggregates arise. At the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on one aggregate that is without thought but with examination only and on the base, three aggregates arise; dependent on two aggregates and on the base, two aggregates arise. Dependent on a phenomenon that is without thought but with examination only and on a phenomenon that is without thought and without examination, a phenomenon that is without thought and without examination arises by root condition: dependent on the aggregates that are without thought but with examination only and on examination, mind-originated form (cittasamuṭṭhāna-rūpa) arises; dependent on the aggregates that are without thought but with examination only and on the primary elements (mahābhūta), mind-originated form arises; dependent on thought and the primary elements, mind-originated form arises. At the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on the aggregates that are without thought but with examination only and on examination, kamma-born form (kaṭattārūpa) arises; at the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on the aggregates that are without thought but with examination only and on the primary elements, kamma-born form arises; at the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on thought and the primary elements, kamma-born form arises; at the moment of rebirth-linking, dependent on the aggregates that are without thought but with examination only and on the base, examination arises.
