Paccanīyapaṭṭhāna

Abhidhammapiṭaka · Paṭṭhāna (2) · Vol. 41 · Section 143

[143] Phenomena (dhammā) that are without thought-conception, with only discursive thought (avitakka-vicāramatta), and phenomena that are without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra) are a condition for a phenomenon that is without thought-conception, with only discursive thought, by object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya). Thought-conception (vitakka) arises taking as object both the aggregates (khandhā) that are without thought-conception, with only discursive thought, and discursive thought (vicāra).
