[168] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is without thought-conception (vitakka) and with discursive thought (vicāra) only, and a phenomenon that is without thought-conception and without discursive thought, are a condition for a phenomenon that is without thought-conception and with discursive thought only, by way of predominance condition (adhipati-paccaya).
Object-predominance (ārammaṇādhipati): thought-conception arises giving weight to the aggregates that are without thought-conception and with discursive thought only, and to discursive thought.
