[144] A phenomenon (dhamma) without applied thought but with sustained thought only (avitakka-vicāramatta) and a phenomenon without applied thought and without sustained thought (avitakka-avicāra) are a condition for a phenomenon without applied thought and without sustained thought by object condition (ārammaṇa-paccaya).
Aggregates (khandhā) without applied thought but with sustained thought only, and sustained thought (vicāra), are a condition for the knowledge of penetrating the minds of others (cetopariyañāṇa), for the knowledge of the recollection of past lives (pubbenivāsānussati-ñāṇa), for the knowledge of faring according to kamma (yathākammūpaga-ñāṇa), for the knowledge of the future (anāgataṃsa-ñāṇa), by object condition.
Taking as object aggregates without applied thought but with sustained thought only, and sustained thought, aggregates without applied thought and without sustained thought arise.
