[181] A phenomenon (dhamma) that is without thought-conception and has mere discursive thought (avitakka-vicāramatta) is a condition, by immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya), both for a phenomenon that is without thought-conception and has mere discursive thought and for a phenomenon that is without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra).
The preceding aggregates (khandhā) that are without thought-conception and have mere discursive thought are a condition, by immediacy condition, for the subsequent aggregates that are without thought-conception and have mere discursive thought, and for discursive thought (vicāra).
The path (magga) that is without thought-conception and has mere discursive thought is a condition, by immediacy condition, for the fruition (phala) that is without thought-conception and has mere discursive thought, and for discursive thought.
The fruition that is without thought-conception and has mere discursive thought is a condition, by immediacy condition, for the fruition that is without thought-conception and has mere discursive thought, and for discursive thought.
