Paccanīyapaṭṭhāna

[192] Phenomena (dhammā) without thought-conception, with discursive thought only (avitakka-vicāramatta), and phenomena without thought-conception and without discursive thought (avitakka-avicāra), are a condition, by way of immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya), for a phenomenon with thought-conception and with discursive thought (savitakka-savicāra) and for a phenomenon without thought-conception, with discursive thought only. The death consciousness (cuticitta) that is without thought-conception, with discursive thought only, and the discursive thought (vicāra), are a condition, by way of immediacy condition, for the rebirth consciousness (upapatticitta) that is with thought-conception and with discursive thought, and for the thought-conception (vitakka). The life-continuum (bhavaṅga) that is without thought-conception, with discursive thought only, and the discursive thought, are a condition, by way of immediacy condition, for the adverting (āvajjanā) and for the thought-conception. The aggregates (khandhā) that are without thought-conception, with discursive thought only, and the discursive thought, are a condition, by way of immediacy condition, for the emergence (vuṭṭhāna) that is with thought-conception and with discursive thought, and for the thought-conception.
