[193] A phenomenon (dhamma) accompanied by thought and examination (savitakka-savicāra) and a phenomenon without thought and with mere examination (avitakka-vicāramatta) are a condition, by immediacy condition (anantara-paccaya), for a phenomenon accompanied by thought and examination:
The preceding aggregates (khandhā) accompanied by thought and examination, together with thought (vitakka), are in each case a condition, by immediacy condition, for the subsequent aggregates accompanied by thought and examination.
Conformity (anuloma) together with thought is a condition for change-of-lineage (gotrabhū); conformity together with thought is a condition for cleansing (vodāna); change-of-lineage together with thought is a condition for the path (magga) accompanied by thought and examination; cleansing together with thought is a condition for the path accompanied by thought and examination; … the path accompanied by thought and examination together with thought is a condition for the fruition (phala) accompanied by thought and examination; the fruition accompanied by thought and examination together with thought is a condition for the fruition accompanied by thought and examination; conformity together with thought is a condition, by immediacy condition, for the attainment of fruition (phala-samāpatti) accompanied by thought and examination.
