[213] A phenomenon (dhamma) without applied thought and without sustained thought (avitakka-avicāra) is a condition for a phenomenon without applied thought and with mere sustained thought (avitakka-vicāramatta) by connascence condition (sahajāta-paccaya).
Sustained thought (vicāra) is a condition for the aggregates (khandhā) without applied thought and with mere sustained thought by connascence condition.
At the moment of rebirth-linking (paṭisandhi), sustained thought is a condition for the aggregates without applied thought and with mere sustained thought by connascence condition.
At the moment of rebirth-linking, the base (vatthu) is a condition for the aggregates without applied thought and with mere sustained thought by connascence condition.
At the moment of rebirth-linking, the base is a condition for applied thought (vitakka) by connascence condition.
