[85] Dependent on a phenomenon (dhamma) without thought-conception and with mere discursive thought (avitakka-vicāramatta), a phenomenon without thought-conception and with mere discursive thought arises, by not-kamma condition (na-kammapaccaya): dependent on the aggregates (khandhā) without thought-conception and with mere discursive thought, volition (cetanā) without thought-conception and with mere discursive thought arises. Dependent on a phenomenon without thought-conception and with mere discursive thought, a phenomenon with thought-conception and with discursive thought (savitakka-savicāra) arises, by not-kamma condition: dependent on thought-conception (vitakka), volition with thought-conception and with discursive thought arises.
