[105] Bhikkhus, when a bhikkhu possesses three qualities, the Saṅgha, if it wishes, may carry out an act of banishment (pabbājanīyakamma) against him: he is a maker of strife, a maker of quarrels, a maker of disputes, a maker of contention, a creator of legal issues (adhikaraṇa) in the Saṅgha; he is foolish, incompetent, full of offences, and unbounded in them; he dwells in association with householders, in unbecoming association with householders. Bhikkhus, when a bhikkhu possesses these three qualities, the Saṅgha, if it wishes, may carry out an act of banishment against him.
