[136] Bhikkhus, an act of reconciliation (paṭisāraṇīyakamma) possessed of three further factors is an act not in accordance with the Dhamma, an act not in accordance with the Vinaya, and one badly settled: it is done where there is no offense (āpatti); it is done for an offense not entailing confession (adesanāgāminī āpatti); it is done for an offense that has already been confessed.
Bhikkhus, an act of reconciliation possessed of these three factors is an act not in accordance with the Dhamma, an act not in accordance with the Vinaya, and one badly settled.
