[252] Bhikkhus, when a bhikkhu is possessed of three further factors, the Saṅgha, if it wishes, may carry out an act of suspension (ukkhepanīyakamma) against him for not making amends for an offence (āpatti): he is one failed in virtue with respect to the higher virtue; he is one failed in conduct with respect to higher conduct; he is one failed in view with respect to extreme view. Bhikkhus, when a bhikkhu is possessed of these three factors, the Saṅgha, if it wishes, may carry out an act of suspension against him for not making amends for an offence.
