[303] Bhikkhus, when a bhikkhu is possessed of three factors, the Saṅgha, if it so wishes, may carry out against him an act of suspension (ukkhepanīyakamma) for not relinquishing an evil view (pāpikā diṭṭhi): he is a maker of strife, a maker of quarrels, a maker of disputes, a maker of contentious talk, a maker of legal issues (adhikaraṇa) in the Saṅgha; he is foolish, incompetent, full of offences (āpatti), unrestrained in conduct; and he lives in association with householders, in unbecoming association with householders.
Bhikkhus, when a bhikkhu is possessed of these three factors, the Saṅgha, if it so wishes, may carry out against him an act of suspension for not relinquishing an evil view.
