[447] "Bhikkhus, it should be given thus. Bhikkhus, that bhikkhu should approach the Saṅgha, arrange his upper robe over one shoulder, … and address it thus:
'Venerable sirs, I committed two offenses of saṅghādisesa, concealed for two months. It occurred to me: "I have committed two saṅghādisesa offenses, concealed for two months. Suppose I were to ask the Saṅgha for a two-month probation (parivāsa) for one offense concealed for two months." So I asked the Saṅgha for a two-month probation for one offense concealed for two months, and the Saṅgha gave me a two-month probation for one offense concealed for two months. While I was undergoing probation, a sense of shame (lajjidhamma) came over me: "I have committed two saṅghādisesa offenses, concealed for two months. It occurred to me: 'I have committed two saṅghādisesa offenses, concealed for two months. Suppose I were to ask the Saṅgha for a two-month probation for one offense concealed for two months.' So I asked the Saṅgha for a two-month probation for one offense concealed for two months, and the Saṅgha gave me a two-month probation for one offense concealed for two months. While I was undergoing probation, a sense of shame came over me. Suppose I were to ask the Saṅgha for a two-month probation for the other offense as well, concealed for two months." So, venerable sirs, I ask the Saṅgha for a two-month probation for the other offense as well, concealed for two months.'
