[458] The Saṅgha should be informed by a competent and capable bhikkhu:
"Venerable sirs, let the Saṅgha listen to me. This bhikkhu named so-and-so has committed two saṅghādisesa offences (āpatti), concealed for two months. It occurred to him: 'I have committed two saṅghādisesa offences, concealed for two months. What if I were to request from the Saṅgha probation (parivāsa) of one month for the two offences concealed for two months?' He requested from the Saṅgha probation of one month for the two offences concealed for two months. The Saṅgha gave him probation of one month for the two offences concealed for two months. While he was observing probation, a sense of conscientious shame set in: 'I have committed two saṅghādisesa offences, concealed for two months. It occurred to me: "I have committed two saṅghādisesa offences, concealed for two months. What if I were to request from the Saṅgha probation of one month for the two offences concealed for two months?" "Probation for the other month as well, for the two offences concealed for two months, has been given by the Saṅgha to the bhikkhu named so-and-so. The Saṅgha approves; therefore it is silent. Thus I record it."
Bhikkhus, that bhikkhu should observe probation for two months, counting from the earlier [month].
