[460] Now here, bhikkhus, a bhikkhu commits two saṅghādisesa offenses (āpatti) concealed for two months: one month he knows of, one month he does not know of. He requests from the Saṅgha probation (parivāsa) for the month he knows of, for the two offenses concealed for two months. The Saṅgha grants him probation for the month he knows of, for the two offenses concealed for two months. While he is observing probation, he comes to know of the other month as well. He thinks thus: "I indeed committed two saṅghādisesa offenses concealed for two months: one month I knew of, one month I did not know of. I requested from the Saṅgha probation for the month I knew of, for the two offenses concealed for two months. The Saṅgha granted me probation for the month I knew of, for the two offenses concealed for two months. While observing probation, I have come to know of the other month as well. What if I were to request from the Saṅgha probation for the other month as well, for the two offenses concealed for two months?"
