[449] Bhikkhus, here a bhikkhu commits two offences (āpatti) of saṅghādisesa, concealed for two months. He thinks: "I have committed two saṅghādisesa offences, concealed for two months. What if I were to request from the Saṅgha probation (parivāsa) of two months for one offence concealed for two months?" He requests from the Saṅgha probation of two months for one offence concealed for two months. The Saṅgha grants him probation of two months for one offence concealed for two months. While he is observing probation, a sense of shame comes over him: "I have committed two saṅghādisesa offences, concealed for two months. It occurred to me: 'I have committed two saṅghādisesa offences, concealed for two months; what if I were to request from the Saṅgha probation of two months for one offence concealed for two months?' So I requested from the Saṅgha probation of two months for one offence concealed for two months, and the Saṅgha granted me probation of two months for one offence concealed for two months.
