[451] Bhikkhus, here a bhikkhu commits two saṅghādisesa offenses (saṅghādisesa āpatti) concealed for two months: one offense he remembers, one offense he does not remember. He requests from the Saṅgha a two-month probation (parivāsa) for the offense that he remembers, which was concealed for two months. The Saṅgha gives him a two-month probation for that offense concealed for two months. While he is observing probation, he remembers the other offense also. He thinks thus: 'I committed two saṅghādisesa offenses concealed for two months: one offense I remembered, one offense I did not remember. I requested from the Saṅgha a two-month probation for the offense that I remembered, which was concealed for two months. The Saṅgha gave me a two-month probation for that offense concealed for two months. While observing probation, I remember the other offense also. What if I were to request from the Saṅgha a two-month probation for the other offense also, which was concealed for two months?' He requests from the Saṅgha a two-month probation for the other offense also, concealed for two months. The Saṅgha gives him a two-month probation for the other offense also, concealed for two months. Bhikkhus, that bhikkhu should observe probation for two months reckoned from that point (tadupādāya).
